We select species listed as non-toxic to cats and dogs in reliable databases and veterinary literature. “Non-toxic” means safe to live with, not safe to snack on. Any plant material can still irritate the mouth or stomach if chewed or swallowed.
Veterinary resources (including ASPCA) note that eating any plant material can cause vomiting or gastrointestinal upset in cats and dogs; plants listed as non-toxic, or as causing only mild gastrointestinal signs, are not expected to be life-threatening, but that doesn’t make them food. That’s why placement, supervision, and good care routines still matter.
